Book Review - Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse

I wanted to read a good quick read book. So I chose this one. This book was first published in year 1922, it's almost like a century back. But when you read the book you will not feel much difference. Except for the technology part rest emotions and feelings are same.

I chose this book without reading any review majorly I thought this book will be based on Gautam Buddha as even the page cover has his pic. But this book is about a brahmin boy Siddhartha whose life revolves around time of Gautam Buddha only.

Initially I was little disappointed but when I started moving ahead I started loving the book more. As Siddhartha said "I can Think, I can wait, I can fast". No one believed the power of these three things. And Siddhartha proved how wrong they were but with worldly life Siddhartha himself forgot these things and then he awaken by his inner self. He discover himself again but again he comes into this worldly life.

So it's a journey of a man searching himself. He allowed himself to go with the flow. He has his learnings he never forget that Except for some time period. Also how Karma play it's game in his life.

I found this book extremely beautiful. Language is simple but deep. I liked the way story goes on.

SUMMARY- must read

Whatever I Do

Sometimes my eyes don't see what it suppose to look around
And Sometimes I just close my eyes to run away from what's happening
But then there are sometimes when I just turn my face away to hide myself
But whatever I do....I think of you...

All I Know.....

If I do what I love to do that doesn’t mean I am careless lazy person…
I am just doing what I am best in……

If I don’t like household work that doesn’t mean I was not taught well…
It just means I learned something else which I loved to do….

If I am unorganized that doesn’t mean I will always be the same…
I am just little late in reaching the state of being organized…

If I am passionate about something it doesn’t mean I am crazy….
It just means I am giving my heart and soul to something which I love from core of my heart…

If I am unconventional that doesn’t mean I am not social…
It just mean I don’t want to look different from crowd…I just want to look different in Crowd…

Aagaz...The Beginning

You walk on a road...
You don't know where its going...
You are just moving on...
You are tired...
You are scattered...
But all you know one day you will reach your destination...
You hope for that one day...
You pray for that one day...
You keep all your energy for that One day...
One day...I will....

Tu zindagi hee nahi
Meri humkadam bhi hai

Main rona bhi chahu
Tu rone nahi deti
Main hassna bhi chahu
Toh tu hassne nahi deti

Tu mere saath bhi hai
Tu mere paas bhi hai
Tu zindagi hai
Tu meri aas bhi hai

Zameen Aasmaan

This poem takes me back to memory lane...it takes me back to year 2001..when it all started...when I started writing..I can say this as my first poem...and I still remember it word by word...no matter what the situation is I always relate this poem to me...I can say its my soul...

Nahi jaante hain kya hoga
Zameen hoga yaa Aaasmaan hoga
Pankh Failaane ki bas ek chah hai
Zindagi se abb mera naata hee kya hai

Khwaabo ki dunia lambi bahut hai
Rango se bikhre moti bahut hai
Chun chunk e lena chahti hu main jisse
Daaman mein apne chupaati hu main kisse

Saagar faila hai mere chaaro aur
Pyaasi fir bhi hu aur Kamzor
Himmat ka diya jalaana mujhe hai
Toote hue pankho ko fadfadaana mujhe hai

Aansaao ka aanchal nikhra hai magar
Aankho se aansu niklenge agar
Moti jaise unhe rakh lungi
Dil mein chupa kar ek Zindagi jee lungi
